After graduating from university with a degree in film studies, Chef Tina
enrolled at Dubrulle Culinary School with the realization that her passion
for food outweighed her love for the cinema. Following the completion of her
studies, Tina was offerred a position at Lumiere and worked under the
tutelage of Chef Rob Feenie and Chef Frank Pabst. While Lumiere kept her
busy in the evenings, Chef Tina worked lunches at Star Anise with Chef
Julian Bond. Always looking to challenge herself further, Tina moved to Diva
at the Metropolitan Hotel and joined the brigade under the guidance of Chef
Michael Noble and Chef Chris Mills. With the opening of Bin 942, Tina became
the perfect find for Chef de Cuisine for chef/owner Gord Martin.
Through her career thus far, Tina has been awarded a Les Dame d'Escoffier
scholarship, spending a month in the Napa Valley studying at the Culinary
Institute of America, after which she enjoyed a working holiday at the Ridge
Wineries in Santa Cruz and Sonoma County, augmenting her great passion for
food and wine.
Chef Tina was also featured on Channel M and CityCooks. She has been guest
chef of gala dinners for the Breast Cancer Foundation, Calgary's Kensington
Riverside Inn and the Calgary Petroleum Club.
In 2004, Tina joined the highly acclaimed Relais & Châteaux at the Ryland
Inn in Whitehouse, NJ, followed by an extended working holiday in Chicago
with Chef Charlie Trotter.
Chef Tina Fineza has been part of the faculty at The Art Institute of Vancouver Culinary School, instructing Asian cuisine. In 2008 she completed an extensive consultation for menu design of the critically-heralded Les Faux Bourgeois.
